Salts will build up in the soil unless extra water penetrates the root zone and leaches salts out. A few years of irrigation without adequate leaching can cause significant stress on plants. Sufficient leaching will reverse salinization.

For years, Sweetwater International has been able to improve alkaline and saline soil conditions by treating water with its unique and multi-patented sulfur burner, the Sweetwater Solution™- Model – 10 (SS™-10). The SS™-10 introduces SO2 gas into raw irrigation water in order to produce sulfurous acid on site and on demand. The mild acid solution effectively reverses the effects of saline and alkaline water and soil conditions.
